Scenic Lookouts Only Local Know About Sunshine Coast

Just as its name sounds, the Sunshine Coast located in South East Queensland flounders in all year-long sunshine, and its subtropical, and mild climate complete with squeaky-clean beaches help in creating it into one of the most popular tourist attractions of the entire state.

You can think of the Sunshine Coast as the quieter alternative to the gorgeous, lush and flashy Gold Coast located farther south. The Sunshine Coast extends north from the famous beaches in Caloundra to the exhaustive sands of the Noosa North Shore. The Noosa North Shore is a wide stretch covered with the dune-backed beach. Scenic Lookouts

When tourists first started to visit the Sunshine Coast, they didn’t believe that there could be much around here apart from the beaches. However, the hinterland, volcanic outcrops, undulating hills and valleys, and sprawling coast make the Sunshine Coast nothing short of spectacular.

There are a lot more scenic standpoints located all around on the coast that only locals know about.

The Charming Mountain Villages of Montville and Maleny

To experience a change in the scene from the Sunshine Coast’s sun-covered beaches, you should take a panoramic drive through the Blackall Range among the scenic hinterland to the pretty mountain villages of Maleny and Montville.

These retro sister towns are located a little over 10 minutes drive far from one another, however, most tourists prefer to visit both of them on a day trip away from the coast, when the temperatures would generally be a bit cooler, due to their high elevations. This drive is all a part of the Blackall Range Tourist Drive that provides dazzling views of the deep valleys below. Scenic Lookouts

Other hinterland tourist attractions on the Sunshine Coast include gorgeous Kondalilla Falls located near Montville, and fruit bats trails in the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve present near Maleny. When you continue even farther, you can find the Hell’s Gates offering you breathtaking views of Alexandria Bay and the pounding surf.

Rising as rounded anthills and a giant witch’s hat, the peaks are essentially volcanic plugs and the centre of vanished volcanoes.

Mount Tibrogargan and Mount Ngungun are the only peaks that are open for hiking to the public, and they provide trails that cater to all abilities, from challenging summit hikes to easy base trails and spectacular coastal views.

Rock climbing, horseback riding, mountain biking, and abseiling are the various popular things that can be done here, and this park is the home to a great diversity of animal and plant life, including grey kangaroos, echidnas, and koalas.
