Getting from Mooloolaba to Eumundi Markets and Everywhere in Between

When you’re staying on the Sunshine Coast, you will need to consider how you will get around. Many holidaymakers are happy to simply enjoy what’s within walking distance, however, there are some attractions in the region that you don’t want to miss out on such as the Eumundi Markets. It’s easy to get all the way from Mooloolaba to the Eumundi Markets and everywhere in between – it just requires a little forward planning.

Mooloolaba

With an idyllic white sand beach, sheltered swimming, and a lively esplanade brimming with cafes, restaurants, boutiques, and more, Mooloolaba is a popular spot for a Sunshine Coast holiday. The area is home to several exciting attractions such as Sea life Sunshine Coast and Aquaduck city bus tours, and Sunreef Mooloolaba, the largest dive centre in Southeast Queensland. Whilst people flock here because there is plenty to do, some things are worth venturing further afield for.

Eumundi Markets

Since its humble beginnings in 1979, the Eumundi Markets have become one of the largest and most popular markets in Queensland. Every Wednesday and Saturday Sunshine Coast locals and visitors from around the globe travel to Eumundi to purchase a range of locally made products from talented creatives, enjoy delicious food and drinks, indulge in massage stalls and palm reading, and take in the live music and entertainment.

How to get from Mooloolaba to the Eumundi Markets

Eumundi Markets Entrance

The Eumundi Markets are located approximately 43km northwest of Mooloolaba. So, you’re living or staying in Mooloolaba and you want to visit the markets. How do you get there? Well, you have a few options.

Car

If you live locally with a car, or if you have hired one for your holiday, you may opt to drive. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. There is free parking available nearby with time limits, and paid parking with no time limits. However, as mentioned earlier, these markets are popular so it can be difficult to find a spot to leave your vehicle.

Bus

There is no direct bus from Mooloolaba to the markets, however, it is possible to reach the markets by bus. First, you will need to head to the Walan St near Bahlaka St bus stop in Mooloolaba. From here, you will take the bus to Maroochydore Station which takes about 10-15 minutes. Here, you will switch buses and head to Nambour, which is approximately a 35–40-minute journey. From Nambour, you will catch your final bus which drops you off on Memorial Drive by the markets after a 20–25-minute drive. Alternatively, you can change buses in Noosa Heads instead of Nambour. In total, the trip takes about 1.5-2.5 hours each way.

Train

Another public transport option is to take the bus from Mooloolaba’s Walan St near Smith St stop to Landsborough. Here you can take the train from Landsborough Station to Nambour Station, where you can catch the bus to the markets. The total journey time is approximately 2-2.5 hours.

Taxi

If you would prefer to get there faster you can take a taxi from Mooloolaba to Eumundi Markets. This option will get you there in about 25-30 minutes, longer if there is traffic. This costs around $100 each way. Uber prices range from around $60-$80 for an uberX or $87-$116 for uberSELECT.

Transfer

If spending $200 or spending 5 hours on a bus doesn’t appeal to you, our Eumundi Markets Return Transfer could be the perfect option for you. This includes door-to-door pickup and drop-off at your accommodation in Mooloolaba (as well as several other popular Sunshine Coast towns), and 3 hours to enjoy all that the markets have to offer. In our experience, this is the ideal amount of time to get the full market experience.

Travelling with one of our local drivers gives you the option to learn about our beautiful region and its fascinating culture and history, plus you don’t need to worry about parking. Our minibuses are all airconditioned for your comfort. The price for the return transfer is $39 per adult and $29 per child, with infants travelling for free. Single bookings are permitted; however, we do require a minimum of 2 adult passengers to operate.

If you don’t fancy sharing a bus, you can also book our private transfer for up to 4 people.
